«La Constitución deja en claro que el trabajo del presidente es ejecuar firmemente la ley. En mi opinión, el presidente no ha ejecutado la ley con exactitud», declaró.
Lo que se señaló fue que «Obama tiene antecedentes claros de ignorar a los representantes electos y se excede en sus prerrogativas constitucionales», explicó Steel.
Según Steel, esto tiene «serias implicaciones para nuestro sistema de Gobierno y nuestra economía».
Barack Obama adoptó varias medidas este año con el uso de prerrogativas sin consultar al Congreso.
En este sentido Boehner alertó al gobernante de no tomar decisiones unilaterales en particular, respecto a la política migratoria. Su razón, según Michael Steel, es porque él bloquearía cualquier iniciativa al respecto.
