Un grupo armado asesinó la noche del viernes a un presunto jefe del cártel del narcotráfico de Los Caballeros Templarios en el municipio de Lázaro Cárdenas, en el occidental estado mexicano de Michoacán, informaron fuentes oficiales.
De acuerdo a las primeras investigaciones, el presunto jefe criminal fue identificado con el apodo de El Kokis y dirigía un grupo de sicarios que operaba en municipios de la costa del Pacífico, en las entidades de Guerrero y Michoacán.
Autoridades de la Secretaría de Seguridad Pública de Michoacán confirmaron que el asesinato se registró a las 9:30 de la noche tiempo local, cuando El Kokis cenaba con uno de sus supuestos cómplices en un restaurante del poblado denominado como El Naranjito, en el municipio guerrerense de Petacalco.
Trabajadores del lugar informaron que los responsables de la muerte formaban parte de un grupo armado que viajaba en al menos dos vehículos y quienes en una rápida acción asesinaron a El Kokis y a su acompañante.
La víctima era uno de los objetivos de las autoridades judiciales de Michoacán, al ser identificado como responsable del tráfico de droga, secuestros, homicidios y extorsiones a comerciantes en la región costera de Michoacán.
En Michoacán operan las organizaciones del narcotráfico de Cártel Jalisco Nueva Generación, Los Caballeros Templarios y La Familia Michoacana, así como los grupos armados H-3 y Los Viagras, quienes principalmente se dedican a la elaboración de la droga sintética conocida como «ice» o «cristal».
Sin embargo, en el Estado de Guerrero existe la presencia de la organización criminal Guerreros Unidos, la cual se disputa con los otros carteles la franja limítrofe con Michoacán.
La costa de Michoacán en el Pacífico comprende 270 kilómetros de litoral, que permiten a las diversas organizaciones criminales traficar cocaína desde Sudamérica, aunque en el estado se han detectado en el último año un centenar de laboratorios de «ice».
